ANDAL castigates her for her lethargy and exhorts her to join them. “Oh beautiful girl who wants to enter heaven by observing the prescribed austerity, won’t you come out and open the door or at the least respond to our call? The lord whom we extol and who wears the fragrant tulasi garland on his head, long ago felled the demon KumbakarNan. Did that demon cede you the long sleep spell which he obtained from the gods? You are still tired and drowsy but you are a precious jewel among us. Please come and open the door with a clear mind”.
