About Us

Thiruvannamalai is a sacred place situated in the southern part of the holy land Bharat Varsha (Mother India). This place is regarded as a shrine devoted to Agni (Fire), one of the five elements - Pancha Bhootha. Large number of spiritual savants known as Siddhas have been here from the distant past. Coming in that tradition is, His Holiness Bhagwan Shri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, who in our own times had taken his abode here.

Mataji Suchindram Rajalakshmi was on a quest to find the answers and the mysteries of the life and beyond. Her curiosity to the questions like ‘who am I?’ Why are we born? What happens to a person after life? What is the meaning of life? etc grew within herself as the days passed. She was inspired by the life and teachings of the Spiritual Savants like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Kanchi Maha Periawal, Ramana Maharishi and Swami Vivekananda. However her thirst continued in search of a Guru, without Whom the journey towards the Absolute cannot be fulfilled. As this continued, a day came when she experienced a contentment, rejoice and a relaxed mind. That day is none other than the moment she was blessed with just one glimpse of the Holy face of Sri Bhagawan Yogi Ramsuratkumarji in the year 1996. She felt the power and the greatness of the Master when she was blessed with the honour to meet him personally in the year 1997. During her first meeting, Bhagawan's first words to her was "What do you want from this beggar?". When she showed her willingness to dedicate her life to the spiritual services, Bhagawan replied back to her saying “You do my father’s work. You beg Ram Nam for this beggar. Don't forget the divine name. My father blesses." Ever since this day, she followed the master’s message and founded Sri Bhagwan Yogi Ramsuratkumar Baktha Samaj in 1998. Also Sri Bhagawan blessed her name as "Suchindram Rajalakshmi" (previously known as Smt Rajalakshmi) since her husband’s native place is Suchindram that is in the Kanyakumari District. Bhagwan also recollected and explained her about his visit to this holy place in the year 1962.

Mataji Suchindram Rajalakshmi, founder of Sri Raghavashram, with His blessings has been rendering her spiritual service since 1998. The first and primary task she undertook was to spread the glory of "Ram Nam" - OM SRI RAM JAI RAM JAI JAI RAM - among as many people as possible. As guided by Sri Sri Krishnapremi Anna, she undertook printing and free distribution of Ram nam writing Notebooks and collecting back the wriiten namas.

It is the considered opinion of many who are born in this land that singing God’s praise or Nama Sankeerthan, is the best means to concentrate the minds of those who, in this Kali Yuga struggle endlessly, being caught in the ocean of mundane existence samsara sagara. Sri Bhagwan YogiRamsuratkumar is one among those great men who are born in this land with this confirmed faith. In today’s context let's accept Bhagwan’s advice which enables us to cross the ‘samsara sagara' by using Ram Nam as the boat and let us sing the praise of the Lord all through the day; let us have it as the ultimate aim i.e., to dedicate that prayer to the sacred feet of the Guru. Let us take pledge in the name of His Holiness Shri Bhagwan Yogi Ramsuratkumar that we shall perform Nama Sankeerthan with earnestness and devotion, which help us move towards a higher level of existence.

The culture of transcendental knowledge that is Path of Vidya is essential for one who is born as a human and this Path of Vidya directs a human being to utilise his life to inquire in the Absolute Truth. This is realised only by a way of total surrendering to the supreme. With these thoughts along with the quest of life and beyond, Mataji Suchindram Rajalakshmi continued her spiritual journey.

With His blessings, Mathaji established Sri Raghavashram in the year 2001 at Kolathur Village near Vandalur in Chennai at her fathers place itself with a huge photo to commemorate Pujaya Sri Bhagawan Yogi Ramsuratkumarji and a special platform right in from of Him with Ram nam in it.

The Archa avatara moorthi (statue) of Bhagwan Yogi Ramsuratkumar was installed at Sri Raghavashram in 2002 by Sri Muralidhara Swamigal. Sri Raghavashram is the third temple for Yogiramsuratkumar in India. Thus Sri Bhagwan Yogi Ramsuratkumar gracefully designed His Holy Presence at Raghavashram to bless upon His children. How graceful are Gurus and what to speak of Their Leelas!

This ashram also holds the “Guru Padhuka” that was blessed by the Bhagawan’s holy feet in 1999. Bhagawan says “The greatest tapas for any one is to stay near one’s Guru and do service to Him.” Mother Suchindram Rajalakshmi is privileged to be bestowed with this Padhuka by Guru Yogi Ramsuratkumar Himself. She performs special poojas every fortnight during new moon (Amavasya) and full moon day (Poornima). Sometimes devotees gather to perform this pooja themselves to get Guru Maharaj’s blessings on Thursdays and Sundays.

"Guru Padhuka" is the most essential and important thing who have Guru Bakthi and faith in God. If we have the blessings of the Guru, then it is more than sufficient to realise about Him. But it is not easy to get without Father’s grace. The importance of Padhuka was portrayed by Bharatha himself in Ramayana as “Padhuka Pattabishekam".

The ashram also conducts bhajans, moral classes and cultural training for children in the name of Sri Balashiksha. This is the key to spread our Sanatana Dharma to the next generation. Children are also encouraged to write Ramnam in order to habituate them as part of their daily routine.

In addition to this, Mathaji Suchindram Rajalakshmi took up "Saving Lives Mission" in the name of Panchavadi Gosala with a main objective of rescuing cattles from the slaughter and sheltering them. This was started in 2002. Panchavadi Gosala is a place where the abandoned cattles are sheltered and taken care of. Apart from this, the destitute, stray animals like dogs, cats, birds, squirrels are also fed and taken care of without restricting their freedom. Annadhanam, poor feeding, is also a regular part of activity.

The Ram Nam Biksha began more vigorously in the year 2011 spreading the glory of writing Ram Namas door to door, street to street, school to school, village to village. Ram Nam Sheets are being freely distributed across India and motivated people to write and experience the power of Naam. Miracles and vibrations in the lives of the Ram Nam writers with full faith and belief are motivating them to write more and more. It has literally become a habit for many.

There was a Divine Wish in the mind of Mataji to install 1008 crores (Maha Sankalp) RamNam as a dedication to the Divine Master Yogi Ram Suratkumar Maharaj who breathed throughout only Ram Nam in His Avatar.

An exclusive Ram Nam Mandir was erected in an area of 1800 sq.ft in the premises of the ashram itself. Necessary racks for installation of the namas were specially designed and erected with complete fabrication for protection.

Entry into the Mandir fills the minds with the Divine presence of 7ft tall Yoga Anjaneya and the complete works of Ramayan. It is just like entering to Ram Lokha with reverberation of Ram Nam in the mind. Parikrama / Pradakshina of the Ram Nam will destroy all our sins and liberates us from the cycle of birth and death.

108 crores Nama Roopa (The Divine Name in Form) was first installed on 24th November, 2012 by Pujya Shri Muralidhara Swamigal. All in the abundant Grace of Guru Maharaj Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Second Sathakoti (108 crores) Sri Ram Nam Pradhishta was on 22nd September 2013 in the presence of Hindu Munani Leader Sri SriRamagopalji. The Third Sathakoti(108 crores) Sri Ram Nam Pradhishta took place on the Avatar day of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, 1st December, 2013 in the Hon’ presence of SangeethaSamrat Sri Sri Pithukuli Murugadas. The divine flow of the Ram Nam nectar accumulated to 216 crores and the Fourth and Fifth Sathakoti Pradishta took place on 25th April 2014 in the Holy presence of Swami Muktananda from Anandashram, the divine place from where the Divine Jaap OM SRI RAM JAI RAM JAI JAI RAM flowed from Beloved Papa Ramdas to Guru Maharaj Yogi Ramsuratkumar which is being carried over at Sri Raghavashram.

August 26, 2015 was Mathaji’s 60th Birthday. Her immense dedication of the entire life by selfless service to the society and devotion to the Guru with simplicity and no propaganda, without even caring about Her food or well-being has been keeping Her heathy without any physical hazards except for the age associated symptoms. Her divine energy has been such. Praying for the longetivity of Her Energetic Divinity, Maha Rudhra Japa took place with the gathering of 48 Brahmans, with Abhishekam to Lord Rudhra and Maha Rudhra Homa. To monumentalize the day more, the sixth Ram Nam Pradhishta of 108 crores took place with reverberating Ram Naam Jaap. We all know that Lord Shiva Himself says “O Parvathi, There are innumerable names of that Supreme Lord. However, in my opinion this Rama Nama is best among all its Names. It is the Indwelling soul and illiuminator of all other Names of Bhagwan”. This day made us all feel this.

Subsequently, the Naama Pradhishta was done every year on December 1 (Guru Maharaj Jayanthi) and His Aradhana day and has completed 1008 crores Ram Nam Pradhishta.

Mathaji's mission remained incomplete without fulfilling Her third pratigna (promise) that is Veda Samrakshana. She had taken up three promises dedicating to Guru Maharaj Yogiramsuratkumar - Ram Nam Biksha, Gho-Samrakshana and Veda Samrakshana .

The Divine Words of Gurumaharaj "Wherever Vedas are chanted, go to that place and listen to it. Even if you dont understand it will do you good. Vedas are great treasures. Vedas are everything. They must be protected at any cost. To tell you the truth, the whole humanity exists only because of the Vedas, Veda Manthras and the Great Masters" and the Divine plead of Mahaperiyava for Veda Samrakshana in almost every talks, were always lingering in Her ears. Instilling these words in the mind, Mathaji Suchindram Rajalakshmi established Sri Raghavashrama Vedalaya in the year 2018 with a vision to educate Vedas, unfold the spiritual and moral power in an individual right from the young age by imparting a wholesome knowledge aiming for perfection in physical, mental and intellectual aspects in children.

Thus, Mathaji has been fulfilling Her three promises - Prathigna by completely devoting Her entire life until now in His Service only solely in a simple manner (but a grand work in the universe) without any propoganda.

May all come, experience the Eternal Bliss at Sri Raghavashram where Nama (Ram Nam) and Rupa(Divine Form of Guru) are together with the blissful presence of the Divine Mother Gomatha and Veda Matha.

This ashram activities are functioning with the fullest blessings of the Divine and we hope to spread this Divinity to the entire world.

JAI GURUNATH!!!
