Benefits Of Chanting Ram Naam

December 10, 2021

Ram Naam (rhythmic chanting of the word Ram) has been considered with core importance in manthras. Lord Sri Ram is regarded as the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is the symbol of courtesy and virtue, and a human of values and morals. It is proclaimed that Lord Ram was given this name in order to help mankind attain salvation and overcome obstacles in life. The word Ram is an embodiment of bliss and salvation.

Ram mantra is considered to be Taraka mantra. The Sanskrit word Taraka means a star. A star traverses in space and acts as a guiding light. Similarly, a Taraka mantra is that which provides guidance and helps liberate oneself from the cycle of birth and re-birth. This mantra is also called the mantra of Surrender, as one surrenders to the Divine, the karma is removed by the supreme power then the ego is reduced and the light of higher consciousness shines through. A sense of lightness and happiness prevails over the body and gives one the power to help one cross the ocean of samsara or life.

While chanting this manthra feel the vibration within. Beginning the mantra with Ra, focus at the nabhi (navel) and when the sound progresses to m, the focus should be between the eyebrows , the Ajna Chakra. In order to receive its benefit, the mantra can be recited by prolonging the word Ram i.e. Raaamm.

“Ram” itself is sufficient for repetitive chanting. However it is important to be attentive and focused, concentrating between the eyebrows, called Ajna Chakra (the third eye) while chanting this mantra for the fullest benefit overtime.
This mantra also has the power to resolve any mental and/or physical problems in our day to day life. Completely surrender while chanting this mantra, and let the higher power resolve the issues.

Recitation of Ram Nam is a tool and instrument to elevate or transform one self. With the Constant repetition of God's name, sensual enjoyments move further away, sins are wiped out, agitation of mind is removed, and one gains immense peace, even the impossible can become possible. Therefore, when worries come to mind, for half hour simply recite God's name, and all worries will disappear. Those divine Souls that engage in repetition of God's name, become one with the name.

Repetition of God's name is our true wealth and treasure that stays and moves along with us. Just repeat Ramnam in your mind/heart; it is not necessary to chant audibly at all times. The Grace follows automatically unseen, unnoticed, gradually.

Every man has a sub-conscious mind. Thoughts get embedded in the subconscious by habit; and habit is developed by practice. The world draws us into everything by our mind traveling to it. One has to be watchful not to permit the mind to get into undesirable things.

The easiest way to cast off that diversion is to chant Ram nam.

Do not focus on the `benefits' from Ramnam; the benefits will flow in without your noticing it in various forms, in a better way than we plan.

So Keep Chanting Ram Nam and Be Happy.
