Annadanam Samam Danam Trilokeshu Na Vidhathe
These are the verses from the Vedas, meaning Annadanam is supreme and incomparable to any charity. Food is the basic requirement for all humans. Thus according to Vedas, the one who does annadanam to devotees, attains heaven (PunyaLoka) in this Universe (Brahmanda) itself. In this whole universe, the creation and its progression depends on food. Hence giving food to the needy is more than attaining heaven. The word needy does not just stop with humans. Any living being in need of food should be served with it.
Sri Raghavashram, a charitable non-profit organization is involved in social, community, spiritual upliftment with the grace of Guru Maharaj Yogiramsuratkumar. In our project, we feed a minimum of 20 needy people every day apart from special annadhaan on special occassions. Our project cover up everyday feeding of the street dogs in our area too.
